It’s a very practical post today. This exercise can be implemented straight away and I promise you’ll see fast results. As always practise is everything! So spend a few minutes each day thinking feet🐾
This will help you find your natural centred voice and once you have found it via the core postural muscles you will be able to keep coming back to it. The idea is to get the whole body engaged in speaking, rather than just the head. You draw on the postural muscles to support your air flow as it leaves the body, upping the energy and power of your voice.
1. First find your front foot. This is the foot you lead off on when you walk.
2. Press the big toe of your front foot into the floor. Say the days of the week. Feel how the core muscles engage as you get on the front foot and notice that your voice has power and energy.
3. Now take the pressure off the big toe and rock on to your heel. Say the days of the week again. Your voice will have less energy.
4. Press the big toe back into the floor again and feel the power of the voice kick in. (This exercise works just as well when you are sitting.)
